L&T Act Reforms - Held by DAC Beachcroft

8th April 2025

Details

Having celebrated its 70th birthday in July last year, the impressively durable Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 is undergoing a thorough review of its current fitness for purpose, with the Law Commission reviewing and considering how the Act might be reformed and updated for a modern commercial leasehold market.

The Tenant Representation Advisors Society invites TRADS Members to a seminar to discuss the status of these upcoming L&T Act Reforms, held by DAC Beachcroft.

The seminar will be an opportunity to learn about and discuss the following:

  • A (brief) history of the 1954 Act and the key policy considerations which have made it what it is so far
  • Key issues of contention and the Law Commission's rationale for review
  • Insights into the consultation responses so far and how the Commission is likely to frame Part Two of the consultation
  • What could be changed and how this might impact the market
