Having celebrated its 70th birthday in July last year, the impressively durable Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 is undergoing a thorough review of its current fitness for purpose, with the Law Commission reviewing and considering how the Act might be reformed and updated for a modern commercial leasehold market.
The Tenant Representation Advisors Society invites TRADS Members to a seminar to discuss the status of these upcoming L&T Act Reforms, held by DAC Beachcroft.
The seminar will be an opportunity to learn about and discuss the following:
- A (brief) history of the 1954 Act and the key policy considerations which have made it what it is so far
- Key issues of contention and the Law Commission's rationale for review
- Insights into the consultation responses so far and how the Commission is likely to frame Part Two of the consultation
- What could be changed and how this might impact the market
The event details are as follows:
Date: 8th April 2025
Time: 08.00 – 09.30
Venue: City of London, exact venue TBC
There will be time for questions after the presentation so please do come prepared with anything you want to ask DACB in relation to this topic – or please do send through any questions in advance to acattee@spring4.com.
